See Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX), Sequenced Packet Exchange (SPX).
A networking protocol suite first used by Novell NetWare, and which corresponds to the TCP/IP protocols.
Internet Package Exchange/Sequenced Package Exchange IPX and SPX are transfer protocols in a novell network. IPX is a datagram protocol used for connectionless communication. SPX is a transport layer protocol (layer 4 of the OSI (Open Systems Interconnections) model). The SPX layer sits on top of the IPX layer (layer 3) and provides connection-oriented services between two nodes on the network. SPX is used primarily by client/server applications. Whereas the IPX protocol is similar to IP, SPX is similar to TCP. Together, therefore, IPX/SPX provides connection services similar to TCP/IP.
stands for "Internet Packet eXchange/Sequenced Packet eX-change," the family of protocols originally used on NetWare networks. (Some NetWare networks use TCP/IP instead of IPX/SPX, and many NetWare networks use both families of protocols.)
(IPX/SPX) Internetwork Packet Exchange / Sequenced Packet Exchange - The protocol adopted by Novell USA for its network OS, Netware. IPX is a protocol in the network layer and carries out the same datagram type of communications as IP. SPX is a protocol in the transport layer, an upper layer on top of the network layer, and performs reliable session-oriented communications, which is the same as TCP/b. It is simpler than TCP/IP and is used for Ethernet and other networks.
IPX (Internetwork Packet Exchange) is a network protocol that interconnects networks that use Novell's NetWare clients and servers. IPX is a datagram or packet protocol. IPX works at the network layer of communication protocols and is connectionless (that is, it doesn't require that a connection be set up before packets are sent to a destination. Packet acknowledgment is managed by the Sequenced Packet Exchange (SPX).
Internetwork Packet Exchange /Sequenced Packet Exchange. On Novell NetWare systems, IPX is a network layer protocol used in the file server operating system; SPX is a transport layer protocol built on top of IPX and used in client/server applications.
A network protocol made famous by Novell's NetWare operating system. It is much more scalable than NetBEUI, but it is not as easy to route as TCP/IP. Thus,...
This is a protocol used on Netware networks and is not required for 3web to function.
Communications protocol used by Novell networks.
Internet packet exchange/sequenced packet exchange. IPX is a network layer protocol that routes packets from one network location to another. SPX is a transport layer protocol. IPX/SPX is used by NetWare networks to conform with the OSI standards. See also Network, Protocol, Netware and OSI.
Protocols for Novell networks.
Acronym for Internetwork Packet eXchange/Sequenced Packet eXchange
Acronym for Internet Packet eXchange\Sequential Packet exchange. IPX/SPX is a local-area network communications protocol developed by Novell that exchanges information between network clients, applications, and network peripherals. This protocol cannot be used over the Internet.
This is the data traffic protocol used by Novell Netware LAN's.
Networking. Internetworking Packet eXchange / Sequenced Packet eXchange. Transport layer protocols mainly used in Novell Netware networks but can also be used in Microsoft networks with the NetBIOS interface.
IPX/SPX stands for Internetwork Packet Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange. It is a networking protocol used by the Novell Net Ware operating systems. Like UDP, IPX is a datagram protocol used for connectionless communications.
