Visual display unit. A device, such as a television screen, which produces a visible display of data. It is usually equipped with a keyboard to allow communication with a computer. A hard copy of the images produced on the screen may be reproduced using a printer.
Video Display Unit. A device that displays orders on a screen, instead of paper. The VDU can be programmed to display orders, menu items, discounts, service charges, and tender/media types in different configurations.
