Part of the cartilage at the front of the neck that forms the larynx or voice box. It is more prominent visually and by touch in men than in women.
The protuberance in the neck made by the voice box, usually much more prominent in men. This is supposed to be a remnant of the original apple eaten by Adam.
The human larynx rests in a frame of cartilage bound by ligaments and muscles. At the front is the thyroid cartilage, creating the lump at the front of the neck, known as the laryngeal prominence or more commonly as the Adam's apple. The lump, or protrusion, is caused by the angle of the thyroid cartilage surrounding the larynx.
Adam's Apple is an album released by hard bop jazz artist Wayne Shorter in 1966.
"Adam's Apple" is a song by American rock band Aerosmith. It was written by Steven Tyler and released on the band's 1975 album, Toys in the Attic.
