(ah-loh-hah)...sometimes pronounced: AH-LOOOOO-HAAAHH...critical keyword at a luau show... haoles translate into "love", but actually deeper and more subtle...
(ah-LOW-ha) Hello, good-by, or an expression of affection
love, affection, kindness. Also means both greetings and farewell.
a warm Hawaiian greeting or parting; love, affection, grace, sentiment, compassion, sympathy, kindness, affection, friendship; to show kindness or to remember with affection.
(ah-LOH-ha): Greeting, Welcome, Love, Farewell; "The Spirit of Hawaii!"
"May Love, Respect and Trust flow from me to you and from you return to me." Real Love is a sharing and caring for others. The Aloha Spirit is doing things with Love and Respect.
Aloha is probably the most often-used word in Hawaii. It means hello and good-bye most commonly as greetings, but it also, in an active sense, means friendship, love, best-wishes, all that is good in the world. The real definition goes far beyond my knowledge, but I find it similar to an old Gaelic word "namaste", which means roughly "all that's good in me wishes the best to all that's good in you". Live aloha.
The value of unconditional love. The outpouring and receiving of the spirit. Love, affection, compassion, mercy, empathy, kindness.
Aloha in the Hawaiian language means affection, love, compassion, mercy, goodbye, and hello, among other sentiments of a similar nature. It is used especially in Hawai'i as a greeting meaning hello and goodbye. Variations occur based on circumstances when used as a salutation.
