A sprawling, prickly shrub well known for it's black berries which can be made into jams and desserts. Known as the blackberry in southern England.
These are the largest of the wild berries, up to 1" long when mature. Look for plump, deep colored berries without hulls. (If hulls are present, the berries were picked too early and will be tart.) More commonly known as "blueberry."
Bramble refers to thorny plants of the Genus Rubus, in the Rose family (Rosaceae). Brambles include blackberries, loganberries, and other closely related plants. Bramble fruit is the fruit of any plant of the Genus Rubus, such as the blackberry or the raspberry.
