Galicia or Galiza is a region of Spain that became a Spanish autonomous community in 1978. It is located in the northwest of Iberian Peninsula. It shares borders with Portugal to the South and the communities of Castile and León and Asturias to the East.
Galicia (, , , , , , ) is an historical region in East Central Europe, currently divided between Poland and Ukraine. The nucleus of historic Galicia are Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of western Ukraine.
