In ski and board construction layers of material, such as fibreglass, carbon or kevlar are laminated to the wood core to control the amount of longitudinal and torsion flex the board or ski has. The laminates are an integral part of the construction that gives it strength and liveliness.
Two or more layers, usually of different materials, bonded or laminated together.
Durable materials comprised of layers of paper and phenolic resin, pressed into thin sheets. Laminates can be solid or patterned in nature, and can be applied on work surfaces or in some vertical applications.
