NET CAPITAL RULE. A company's liquid capital calculated as the value of liquid assets of a company less its total liabilities. Net capital is conceptualized as the value of a company's liquid capital adjusted for risk factors. Net Capital Rule as applied in the Thai securities business is issued to increase the standard requirement for a broker's financial position, and to ensure that it maintains sufficient liquid assets to meet the debt obligations if the company runs into financial difficulty.
