The complete length of time a recipient is funded to complete approved activities. A performance period may contain one or more budget periods. (see also: Budget Period)
The period of time that an initially constructed or rehabilitated pavement structure will last (perform) before reaching its terminal serviceability. This is also referred to as the design period or life, expressed in years. Twenty years is normally used in North America.
