Definitions for "Text mining"
Text mining is conventional data mining done using "text features." Text features are usually keywords, frequencies of words, or other document-derived features. Once you derive text features, you mine then just as you would any other data. Both ODM interfaces and Oracle Text support text mining.
Also known as data mining. Information extraction to discover hidden facts contained in databases. Using a combination of machine learning, statistical analysis, modelling techniques and database technology, data mining finds patterns and subtle relationships in data and infers rules that allow the prediction of future results.
