Physical damage coverage insures you against damage to your car. The physical damage section of an automobile policy can include both comprehensive coverage – which protects you against theft and vandalism, among other things – and collision coverage.
Referred to as Section C, it is the section of the automobile policy that covers the damage to the insured's vehicle. Under the physical damage section, an insured may purchase all perils coverage, collision coverage, comprehensive coverage or specified perils coverage.
