The ``property list'' of a window is the list of properties that have been defined for the window.
A structured, textual representation of data that uses the Extensible Markup Language (XML) as the structuring medium. Elements of a property list represent data of certain types, such as arrays, dictionaries, and strings.

In the Mac OS X Cocoa, Ne XTSTEP, and GNUstep programming frameworks, property list files are files that store serialized objects. Property list files use the filename extension .plist, and thus are often referred to as plist files. Property lists are parsed with the NSPropertyListSerialization class.
