Definitions for "Plan of salvation"
Our Heavenly Father's plan for his children by which they can overcome sin and death and gain eternal life.
The great plan prepared by our Father in Heaven before the creation of the world to enable His children to come to earth, receive mortal bodies, and return to live with Him and their families in the life to come. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is central to the plan of salvation, as it makes possible the overcoming of spiritual death, or sin, and the overcoming of physical death by the power of His resurrection.
Also called the Plan of Happiness, this plan describes where we were before birth, why we're here on earth, and what happens after this life. In a nutshell, we came to earth to obtain physical bodies and to be tested and to prove our obedience to our Heavenly Father.
