electronic equipment consisting of a small crystal of a silicon semiconductor fabricated to carry out a number of electronic functions in an integrated circuit
a piece of silicon that can hold thousands of transistors
Very small electronic device used to process digital information
An integrated circuit made up of millions of transistors and other electronic components formed in a chip of pure silicon, encapsulated in a small insulating block, and provided with pins to carry signals in and out. As technology advances, the number and type of components which can be formed on a single chip increases, making the chip ever more powerful.
Silicon Chip is an Australian electronics magazine. It was started in 1988 by Leo Simpson. Following the demise of Electronics Australia it is the only hobbyist-related electronics magazine in Australia.
