Italian beads named after the Venice glass work area that was moved to the island of Murano in 1292. Venice is still a major bead manufacturing area today.
An eight-end cotton satin lining, generally mercerised and Schreinered. The term Venetian is also applied to an overcoating similar to a Covert but made in a modified satin weave.
