Definitions for "KPI"
Key performance indicators. Four key performance indicators were issued by the NTA in April 2002 for drug misuse services. The Agency is using these KPIs to review the provision of services in each DAT area. The four KPIs are: waiting times, new referrals, treatment completion/planned discharge rates and unit costs.
A high-level measure of system output, traffic or other usage, simplified for gathering and review on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis. Typical examples are bandwidth availability, transactions per second and calls per user. KPIs are often combined with cost measures (such as cost per transaction or cost per user) to build key system operating metrics.
KPI are quantifiable measurements, agreed to beforehand, that reflect the critical success factors (of the company, department, project).
