Physical pain is a symptom in the body that something may be wrong, an alarm for the body. Traditional methods of treatment usually look at ridding the body of symptoms, but not the cause of the symptoms. This is similar to if your "check engine light" comes on in your car and you put a piece of tape over it so you cannot see the warning…the problem does not disappear simply because you don't see the warning light.
