A scheme in which you sell products, and enroll people under you who sell products and enroll people under them, and so on is known as multi-level marketing. Although not illegal, and may in theory work, this common type of spam is always a bad opportunity at best and a fraud at work. Although there are a few successful multi-level marketing companies out there (Amway, Mary Kay), notice that they are not the ones sending you spam.
A form of distributorship in which you receive commission on your own sales and on the sales of others whom you sign up as distributors. Some MLMs are considered pyramid schemes and illegal in some countires. Some are legitimate business opportunities. Any business of this nature should be investigated closely.
This is a form of distributorship. Participants earn commission on their own sales as well as on sales made by others they have recruited as distributors lower down the chain. Legitimate multi-level-marketing (MLM) schemes should not be confused with pyramid selling schemes (which are illegal). The main difference between these two concepts is in their focus: if participantsâ€(tm) major financial incentive comes from selling a viable product rather than territorial rights, the scheme is a legitimate MLM.
