A (small) projector giving concentrated light of usually not more than 20° divergence.
Strong focused light thrown upon a particular person or object, such as on a stage.
A source of illumination for an extremely illuminated sign; a lamp with a strong focused beam directed toward a sign.
A concentrated beam of light that illuminates only a specific area, used especially to center attention on a designated structure.
Radiates a well-defined directional beam of light, casting hard, distinct shadows. Best used for individual subjects, whereas floodlights blanket broader areas.
A lamp that provides a defined circle of light.
A fixture designed to light only a small, well-defined area.
A light source that emits a cone of light. Only objects within the cone are illuminated. The cone produces light of two degrees of intensity, with a central brightly lit section that acts as a point source, and a surrounding dimly lit section that merges with the surrounding deep shadow.
A profile luminaire which produces a hard edged beam of light.
A portable battery-powered electic lamp that creates a beam of light directed on a small area.
a lamp that produces a strong beam of light to illuminate a restricted area; used to focus attention of a stage performer
illuminate with a spotlight, as in the theater
a light that only sends light in one direction,
a light which points in a particular direction
a point light source where the rays of light are constrained by a cone
a point radiation source that emanates radiation in a predominately preferred direction that is defined by a conic volume in which a substantial portion of the radiation can fall such as light from a flashlight
a point that radiates light only in specified directions
a positional light source, which has a cone of effect, e
a type of light source which only emits light in a certain direction. ( Language Reference)
is a directional light, meaning that you can aim it at an object, or a specific part of an object. You do this by aiming the spotlight's cone where you want the light to appear. The cone of light is infinite, even though the graphical representation of the cone is finite. This means that the cone does not have to touch the object that you are lighting.
A special type of local light source that has a direction (where it points to) as well as a position. A spotlight simulates a cone of light, which may have a fall-off in intensity, based upon distance from the center of the cone.
A (small) concentrated light source of usually not more than 20° divergence, giving an intense beam of light over a short to medium
(Or, simply, "spot") A type of lantern (qv) whose beam is focused through a lens or series of lenses to make it more controllable.
A luminaire using halogen/incandescent or a high intensity discharge (HID) lamp that produces a narrow beam angle designed to illuminate a specifically defined area.
A lighting unit, usually with a lens and shiny metal reflector that is capable of being focused; produces hard light.
This is a spotlight especially hardened to withstand some of the rigors of combat. These can be white-light, infrared, ultraviolet, or pretty much anything you want.
