Definitions for "PTO"
Power Take-Off, usually referring to a mower deck.
(Stands for Power Take Off. This is where auxiliary equipment uses the vehicle's engine or gearbox - for example where a milk tanker uses the vehcile's engine to create a vacuum in the tank)
Paid time off. A benefit program granting employees a specific number of vacation or personal days off which that are paid by the employer. The number of days is generally based on the employer's policy for accrual of paid time off.
A national organization that promotes the welfare of children and provides guidance and leadership training to its local units. Gilchrist is an active member of the Florida PTO and we encourage every parent to join. Membership enables you to vote on matters that affect our school including how fundraising dollars are spent and what direction we want to take our school in.
Parent Teacher Organization
Gilchrist PTO is an open organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, staff, grandparents and community members all working together to enhance the educational opportunities and learning environment for Gilchrist elementary students. Every single PTO member plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive, rewarding educational experience for our children!
