Confidential Business Information Material that contains trade secrets or commercial or financial information that has been claimed as confidential by its source (e.g., a pesticide or new chemical formulation registrant). EPA has special procedures for handling such information.
Confidential Business Information. Under the provisions of HMIRA, a supplier or employer may claim an exemption from disclosure of certain information on a label or MSDS based upon confidential business information grounds. Hazard information on the material, however, cannot be claimed as confidential. For a supplier, CBI can be: the chemical identity or concentration of any ingredient of a controlled product; and/or the name of any toxicology study that identifies any ingredient of a controlled product. For an employer, CBI can be: the chemical identity or concentration of any ingredient of a controlled product; the name of any toxicological study that identifies any ingredient of a controlled product; the chemical name, common name, generic name, trade name or brand name of a controlled product; and/or information that could be used to identify a supplier of a controlled product.

Codon Bias Index. Codon bias index is another measure of directional codon bias, it measures the extent to which a gene uses a subset of optimal codons. CBI is similar to op, with expected usage used as a scaling factor. In a gene with extreme codon bias, CBI will equal 1.0, in a gene with random codon usage CBI will equal 0.0. Note that it is possible for the number of optimal codons to be less than expected by random change. This results in a negative value for CBI.
