The quality or state of being proud; inordinate self-esteem; an unreasonable conceit of one's own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, rank, etc., which manifests itself in lofty airs, distance, reserve, and often in contempt of others.

This is a common name for celebrations commemorating the Stonewall riots (which ushered in the Gay Liberation Movement) and the LGBT/I community in general. In Queensland, Pride month is celebrated in June with the Pride Parade and Fair Day in Brisbane usually held on the Saturday of the last week.
