Definitions for "Bold"
Any part of the copy that is highlighted by being typeset in a heavier typeface.
A darker version of a font or character formed using heavier strokes. See also weight.
A common font style. The stems of the characters are wider than in the normal font, given the letters a darker impression.

A firmly played approach to a well -protected pin. Also too strong or long a shot
Usually descriptive of a putt that's hit too hard and goes well beyond the hole, but it might be applied to any shot that carries too far or to a firmly hit approach shot to a pin that's well protected.

A climb (or climbing) that has a risk of either big falls or injury (or both).
Often used with the term "big", and almost always used to describe a red wine that has highly concentrated fruit flavors, as well as strong tannins and acidity. Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barolo, Rhone Syrah and Amarone are just a few wines that are often termed as "bold". White wines generally are not considered "bold", the exception being some very expensive Chardonnays, such as those from Burgundy.
