Definitions for "Logging"
Involves using instruments to determine what type of rock is being encountered and whether it is likely to contain oil, gas or water. Various types of logging can measure and record the natural or induced radioactive properties of the rock, or the way formations respond to electric current, or how fast sound waves travel through the rock.
