A new study committee has reconvened to review adoption of a simplified 90.1. Final recommendations are expected in May 1997. Adoption of the code may occur by the end of 1997. STAFF ENGINEERS FROM THE ENERGY, MINERALS, AND NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT HAVE PREPARED PRESCRIPTIVE PACKAGES FOR USE IN RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION; CURRENTLY UNDER CONSIDERATION FOR ADOPTION. The Governor has signed an Executive Order for state energy management, calling for 90.1 compliance for new state buildings. The state received FY96 DOE funding for MEC training and updating residential code to 95 MEC.
