Request for applications (formerly called RFPs; the federal government revised the term to RFA in 2001)
Request for Applications. Announcements that indicate the availability of funds for a topic of specific interest to a sponsor. Proposals submitted in response to RFAs generally result in the award of a grant. Specific grant announcements may be published in the Federal Register and/or specific sponsor publications. Request for approval. A form submitted by the sponsor of an educational activity to the ASRT CE Department for evaluation and credit approval or denial. The RFA form must be accompanied by a course outline, objectives, schedule and speaker qualifications.
