deferred procedure call. A queued call to a kernel-mode function that will usually be executed at a later time. DPCs are used by drivers to schedule I/O operations that do not have to take place in an ISR at a high IRQL, and can instead be safely postponed until the processor IRQL has been lowered. Deferred Payment Credit. A DC which allows the nomination of a bank, or the issuing bank to effect payment against stipulated documents at a maturity date as specified or determinable from the wording of the credit.

The standard and widely used abbreviation for damp-proof course.
Damp proof course. A thick band of polythene, laid in the brickwork, just above ground level and around doors and windows. In older houses slate or mineral felt may have been used, and chemical injection may be required.
Damp Proof Course:. Course Layer of impervious material (mineral felt, pvc etc) incorporated into a wall to prevent dampness rising up the wall or lateral dampness around windows, doors etc. Various proprietary methods are available for damp proofing existing walls including "electro-osmosis" and chemical injection.

A real, documented plant community that embodies the resource attributes needed for the present or potential use of an area, the desired plant community is consistent with the site's capability to produce the required resource attributes through natural succession, management intervention, or a combination of both.

Diagnosis procedure combination. System for paying medical bills consisting of set fees determined by individual hospitals. In the past, medical bills were payable on a per-visit basis, so they increased with the number of visits. Under the DPC system, medical costs are more effectively controlled.
