Initiation is a ritual that a fraternity or sorority holds in order to induct their "pledges" (also called associates or new members) into the organization. This also is a secret activity and is unique to each fraternity or sorority.
Usually a ritual which formally recognizes a person as a member of a coven. Most initiates say it is the most profound experience of their life. Initian ceremonies differ depending upon the tradition, and the coven.
A ceremony or other ritual by which an individual is admitted to a group, sect or other organization and therefore makes his/her identity subservient to that of the group and effectively prevents further progress on the path to Transition other than in a manner prescribed by the group. If confronted by anything which looks remotely like an initiation ceremony, it is recommended therefore to flee as rapidly as possible.

There are inner plane initiation ceremonies which "confer" initiation, and give the candidate an expanded experience that they will never forget, inspiring them onward in their evolution.
